Garland to Richardson: A Convenient Drive
Garland sits east and southeast of Richardson, and the two cities are well-connected by the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT/TX-190), which runs along Garland's northern edge and drops Garland families at the Coit Rd interchange — just minutes from J.J. Pearce High School. Families in the Firewheel area on the northeast side of Garland have one of the most direct routes: the PGBT westbound to Coit Rd north gets you to the mat fast.
From the Duck Creek neighborhoods in central Garland, Centerville Rd or Arapaho Rd heading west connects to Coit Rd and the Pearce campus. There is no second Mustang Elite location in Garland — all practices are held at 1600 N Coit Rd, Richardson, TX 75080 — but the cross-city trip is straightforward on roads that Garland residents use daily.
Head Coach Coach Rick Ibarra founded Mustang Elite in 2019 specifically to give kids in this corner of Dallas County a serious, affordable wrestling option without the drive to the western suburbs.

Garland ISD Families and Club Wrestling
Garland ISD serves a large swath of east Dallas County with dozens of elementary and middle schools. While GISD has its own high school wrestling programs, club wrestling at Mustang Elite gives GISD athletes reps and technical depth that the school season alone cannot provide. Folkstyle wrestling — the style we teach — is the same style used in UIL competitions, so every hour on our mat translates directly to high school performance.
Families near South Garland or closer to Mesquite may find the PGBT is still the most practical corridor. We encourage prospective members to check the practice schedule and plan a trial visit — the drive may be shorter than you expect.
Nonprofit Pricing for Garland Families
Mustang Elite Wrestling is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 84-1770885), which means our fees are structured to cover costs — not to generate profit. For-profit youth sport clubs in the Garland and east Dallas area regularly charge $90–$200+ per month. We believe quality coaching should be accessible to every Garland family. Visit our registration page to see the current season cost.
Firewheel and Beyond — All of Garland is Welcome
Whether you are in the newer Firewheel master-planned community in northeast Garland, the older established neighborhoods near downtown Garland, or anywhere in between, Mustang Elite Wrestling is open to your family. USA Wrestling affiliation means your child can compete in sanctioned events throughout Texas and beyond as they progress through our program levels.
